Neptune 1 Studios

It started with a fundraiser… a “Tablescapes” event celebrating the Centennial of the Marblehead Historical Society's purchase of the Jeremiah Lee Mansion. With the table theme being the hand-painted 18th century wallpaper, Phyllis and Susan set out to translate the amazing scenes into an elegant and unique table setting. The event was a success and the great response from everyone, from guests to the museum’s curator, inspired the pair to form Neptune 1 Studios.

A growing collection using images from a “pocket puzzle” made in the early 1800s. It appears to be an offer of marriage. The folded square piece of paper appears to have held a ring within. Watch for a new plate at the beginning of each year.

Spring 2011 Presenting Beauport's China Trade Collection

This will be a beautiful Asian inspired collection depicting beautiful village scenes and people at work cultivating rice and manufacturing porcelain.

The China Trade Room at Beauport, the Sleeper-McCann House, is one of the mansions most dramatic. Henry Davis Sleeper (1878-1934), a collector and interior decorator, acquired several large rolls of hand-painted Chinese wallpaper purchased in 1780 but unused until Sleeper’s renovation in 1908.
